1. Wat is Xalof en waarvoor wordt dit middel gebruikt*
Dit middel bevat latanoprost en behoort tot een groep van geneesmiddelen die prostaglandineanalogen worden genoemd. Dit middel bevordert de natuurlijke afvoer van vloeistof vanuit de binnenkant van het oog naar de bloedbaan.
Dit middel wordt gebruikt om aandoeningen bekend als open-kamerhoekglaucoom en oculaire hypertensie te behandelen. Beide aandoeningen houden verband met een stijging van de druk in uw oog en kunnen uiteindelijk uw gezichtsvermogen aantasten.
Dit middel wordt ook gebruikt voor de behandeling van verhoogde oogdruk (glaucoom) bij kinderen en baby’s van alle leeftijden.
